  In the parking lot of the Officer's Mess Hall at the Port of Tillamook Bay.

  
  

  Our supplier will guarantee these NUCs under the following conditions:

  1. Must be installed 24 to 36 hours after receipt.

  2. During the installation, an inspection of each frame must be made to determine the strength and health of the NUC.

  a. Is the queen present?  How does she look?

  b. If you don’t find her (she is sometimes difficult to observe), is there evidence of eggs, larvae, and capped brood?  

  c. Are there any signs of stress? e.g., lots of dead bees.

  d. If there is reason to believe your NUC is less than good condition, pictures should be taken and, better yet, a 2nd opinion of a seasoned beekeeper should be obtained.  

  3. If it is determined that your NUC needs to be replaced, the original NUC must be returned to the supplier and a new NUC will be provided.  

  4. In some cases, a new queen may be the only thing needed and therefore a new queen will be provided.

  5. 48 hours after the morning of delivery is the cutoff time to determine if a NUC needs to be replaced.  That means that by Monday morning May 5th.  Work with the Tillamook Beekeepers Executive Board to verify.  

  6. The Tillamook Beekeepers Association will pay for the roundtrip mileage for one collective trip as needed to Colton Oregon to pick up replacement NUCs.   That means if there is more than one customer with a NUC needing replacement, it will be coordinated such that only one trip to Colton is necessary.

  Come and watch or participate to learn how to do it if you don't know what you are doing!
